Ebb and Flow
Ebb and Flow is a book focussing on a child's journey of the imagination along the coastline searching for an answer to why the tide moves. She asks this to ficticious creatures of her make-believe who provide her with fabricated answers. The images explore a subtle balance between a world of reality and one of creative imagination and embellishment. The painted marks provide a glimpse of what could be considered real while the ink splatters deal with the lack of clarity of the mind. As the viewer goes on their own journey through the pages of the book the illustrations ebb and flow up and down as the character explores Penryn river and her own make-believe.
